You have to see Xel Ha Yucatan Peninsula! Xel-Ha (pronounced SHELL-Ha) is a breathtaking natural eco-park in the city of Chetumal in the Riviera Maya on the eastern Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. At Xel Ha, you will experience natural wonders up close by exploring aquariums, ecological attractions, snorkeling, swimming with the dolphins, taking a tour of the Mayan Riviera ruins and many more unbelievable experiences. Your senses will be awakened and you will have the adventures of a lifetime at Xel Ha Park.

Swim with dolphins

At XelHa park, or known also as eco park, you can swim and play with one of nature's most gentle and beautiful creatures, the dolphins. Our dolphins swim freely in a lagoon designed just for dolphins and their unique needs. Our dolphin encounters have received worldwide acclaim. There are several encounters to chose from including Interax, a short encounter to play games and make friends with the dolphins, and Primax, a longer encounter that including swimming and the famous "foot push."

Mayan Wall Tours

Take a tour of the amazing Mayan ruins at Xel-Ha dating back to the 12tj century A.D. You will be in awe of the ancient Mayan wall that guarded the Xel-Ha River port. The walking tours will take you back in history to experience the wonder of the architecture of one of the most intelligent ancient civilizations.

Tulum - Xel-Ha All Inclusive Tour

The Tulum - Xel-Ha tour combines the beauty and wonder of Xel-Ha with the magnificent Mayan ruins of Tulum. Tulum is the last known Mayan civilization. You will be amazed at the beautiful archaeological temple ruins on the Caribbean Sea. Coba is another natural archaeological Mayan ruin site just a short drive from Tulum. It is a little difficult to get to, but definitely worth it.

Floating Bridge

The Floating Bridge is an exhilarating experience for those that are not the faint of heart. The jungle theme bridge is a series of connected buoyant sections that sit on the water that connects the Xel-Ha Inlet to the Caribbean Sea. Good balance is a must to cross the bridge, but it is well worth it as you will pass one of the best fishing watching areas in the Caribbean.

Getting There

Xel-Ha is located 75 miles south of Cancun on highway 307 and 35 miles south of Playa de Carmen. If you are vacationing in Cozumel, you can take the ferry to Playa and travel to Xel-Ha from there. If you are planning to stay in Xel Ha, Yucatan Peninsula for a few days, there are many hotel options in the Chetumal and Playa de Carmen area.
